MOBO Award finalist* Tinchy Stryder, will be performing at Ghana’s 51st Independence Celebration Dance, on Saturday 8th March 2008, at the Ocean Music Arena - Hackney; hosted by Rich Promotions, Akwaaba, and the Young Ghanaians Network.

Tinchy Stryder, 21, who was born and raised in Bow - East London, will be performing tracks from his critically acclaimed solo debut album 'Star in the Hood'; including the underground smash hit single 'Something About Your Smile'. Tinchy Stryder first made his mark on the UK Grime scene in 2003 and has since, collaborated with top UK artistes, including The Streets.

Tinchy Stryder – who is also from a Ghanaian background – commented:

“The best thing about being an artist is performing live and it is truly an honour to have the opportunity to do so in the presence of my fellow Ghanaian’s and friends of Ghana”.

The annual celebration, which has seen the likes of ITV Bad Girls star Antonia Okonma and R&B songstress Keisha White, has attracted audiences of over 3,000 guests from across the UK; proving to be one of the most anticipated events on the African Caribbean social calendar.

On the evening, there will also be performances by T2 and Jodie Aysha, performing their top 10 smash hit single - Heartbroken, as well as appearances by top Ghanaian artistes including VIP, OD4, Madfish and FBS Crew.
