Oi! Who’s that O to the Z! You may remember that line from the classic Grime track 'Oi' which still smashes up dances. In fact More Fire Crew, which then consisted of members Ozzie B, Neeko and Lethal B and is now the collective known as Fire Camp (minus Neeko), have notched up several classic bangers, including a little known track called POW.
The last jam of the year - and what a way to finish with a genuine Leeds superstar - droppin a super rare set will be the legendary George Evelyn, aka DJ Ease of Nightmares on Wax. Additionally the breakdance battle is set to be hype - 3 on 3s with crews from Italy, Ireland, England and Scotland. The Italian crew is Rapid Soul Movements.
Britishhiphop.co.uk: always at the forefront of the best in UK Hip Hop, has been following RHYME4RESPECT: the nationwide lyric competition since it’s launch at Deal Real Records earlier on this year.
Following the success of last year’s New Year’s Day event in Manchester, 1Xtra travels North again to host its New Years Day Party in Leeds - New Year: Old Skool. Listeners can register for tickets to have the chance to celebrate the New Year with the UK's favourite Black Music station.
What can I say about Skinnyman? He's a bit of a legend really. His "Council Estate Of Mind" LP on Lowlife Records is one of the classic UK hip-hop joints of the last decade, he's been in and out of prison and had more label trouble than most, but when he rocks the mic he rocks the mic right.

Born and bred in Leyton, East London, Shameless gave up his day job in TV to live fast and MC. It worked, and with a distribution deal with Vital on the table, he introduced himself unapologetically to the UK Hip Hop scene.
Chester P steps back into the game with this tremedously original offering. Somewhere between here and Folk-Hop Chester delivers his usual dulcet tones for this semi acoustic track. The dope video is semi-animated and is nothing you have seen the likes of before in Hip Hop.
Planet Asia's video for his single "Thick Ropes" is produced by Dilated People's Evidence and is one of my favorite tracks from Asia's full-length album The Medicine. Some might consider Planet Asia to be underground, but he is proving he is no backpacker as he spits about stickups, bragging rights, or sexual conquests. This song will change your mind about Asia.
