Galactic was born in the early '90s, after two Washington DC punks – guitarist Jeff Raines and bassist Robert Mercurio – relocated to New Orleans and found themselves intoxicated by the sounds of the scene that nurtured The Meters, Professor Longhair, the Neville Brothers and Dr. John.

Brotherman’s lyrical substance, paired with the warmth and clarity of his voice make him an accessible and exciting new performer, and a breath of fresh air in a stagnating home-grown scene.

As with all the P Brothers releases so far this 12" record does not disapoint! Dope-ass beats from this side of the pond laced with heavy lyrics from the other. Out on the P Brothers own Heavy Bronx Records and featuring Boss Money (BMG) & Ress Connected outta NY.

Elevating his way to superstardom, rapper, Flo Rida (Poe Boy Music Group / Atlantic Records) celebrated the release of his debut album, "Mail on Sunday", on Sunday March 16th at Cameo Theater in Miami's South Beach. The star-studded bash was hosted by model and television personality Melyssa Ford along with Udonis Haslem of the Miami Heat.

Lupe Fiasco trail-blazed his path to critical acclaim when his Atlantic Records debut, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor exec-produced by Jay Z, was released. Possessing head-spinning wordplay and a topical range more akin to the underground than the mainstream, the 25-year-old lyricist proved that talent can still make waves in the rap game.

Lupe Fiasco will headline at north London venue, Koko for an exclusive one-off gig on April 2nd. Showcasing tracks from his current album, Lupe Fiasco's The Cool which stormed the UK Top 10 when it was released earlier this year including the incredible hit single 'Superstar' and the forthcoming, 'Paris, Tokyo' out on April 14th & 21st digitally and physically.

It's been a while since I've done any reviews and I'm a bit later off the mark with this one - the release date was 10th March, almost a week ago as I write this. However, it's been on loop on my MP3 player ever since I was sent it for review so I felt I could hardly pass by the opportunity to sing the praises of what is definitely one of the best CDs I've been sent this year.
