In April of this year, the artist released his single “Party Popper” featuring frequent collaborator and close friend Pa Salieu. The track’s unique mash of drill and grime saw it quickly ascend to the B List on 1xtra, becoming a cult anthem within the UK rap scene in the process.
After following it up with his critically acclaimed EP Mukta vs Mukta in July, Backroad and Pa continued their effortless collaborations on recent single “My Family“. Currently playlisted across Radio1 and 1xtra, the track is fast-becoming one of the biggest rap songs of the year, allowing Backroad’s differentiated and energetic flow to be heard across the country.
