2007 Is Gonna Be A Rotton Year - Blak Twang
With a new, label, tour, album and two very hot singles ready to be released, 2007 looks like being a very good year indeed for Blak Twang AKA Tony Rotton. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Blak Twang’s first ever foray into the British music scene and comes with the announcement of the launch of his very own label, Rotton Product Records.

The label is set to be the home of his forthcoming releases which will include the club banging ‘Tumbz Up’ and the head pounding socially driven ‘Help Them Lord’ produced by First Man which will be followed up in the autumn by the full length release ‘Mayor Of Rotton City’. 

Rotton Product Records is set to be the foundation for not only his own work but will also feature future releases from his first signings K9, who featured on huge single ‘G.C.S.E’ along with new comer Versetti.

Rotton Product RecordsIn support of his new single Blak Twang has begun his Rotton ‘Fresh Out The Box’ Tour, which kicked off in March 2007, with dates in Bristol, Cambridge, Guilford, and Brighton.

March also see’s Blak Twang return to Lagos (Nigeria) for the second Hip Hop World Awards. This event is one of the biggest music events in the world and attracts African and International artists from across the globe to celebrate their contribution to Hip Hop. Blak Twang will be performing as well as presenting an award on the night. Whilst in Nigeria there are also plans to shoot a video for ‘It’s So Hard’ also featured on the ‘Mayor Of Rotton City’ album.

Blak Twang has just been invited by Nike to take part in commemorating 25 years of the Air Force 1, which will see him performing at their flagship store on Oxford St. in April and featuring on a limited addition compilation being put together by Deal Real in support of the project.

2007 will also finally see the long awaited official re – issue of 1996’s exhaustingly rare and much talked about ‘Dettwork South–East’. The album has still to see the light of day and features classic performances from the likes of Roots Manuva, Seanie T, Fallacy and Chester P.
