Japan’s best and most revered producer / mixmaster and indeed one of the greatest legends in the world of hip hop and breaks returns to the UK for a limited number of shows. A gifted producer & DJ with a superb sense in mixing and composing his sound who’s been hugely received in the international club scene, Krush was indoctrinated into hiphop culture by a single viewing of Wildstyle in ’82.
He began pursuing his solo career after the break-up of his group Krush Posse in late 1992, and soon grabbed people’s attention as the first DJ to use turntables as live instruments, doing free sessions with live musicians on stage.
He released his 1st album "Krush" in January 1994, and since then has released countless records in Japan, Europe, US and around the globe. In the mid 90’s as one of the big guns in the incredibly innovative Mo Wax Records stable alongside DJ Shadow, Dr Octagon, James Lavelle, Attica Blues et al, Krush proved himself as one of the most creative beatmakers in the business and was widely regard as the best, changing the way we listen to hip hop. Like Shadow when MoWax was sold off he was selected as one of the key artists to retain a contract with parent major label.
All his solo releases have ranked high in various charts in & out of Japan, and his 6th album "Zen" had been highly acclaimed and awarded the Best Electronica Album in 2002 AIFM Awards (US).
His 8th album "Jaku" released in late 2004 has topped the RPM chart of CMJ for 3 weeks in the US. In March 2006, he released his first best albums in self-remixed style, "Stepping Stones" & making another huge buzz around the globe.
As Krush embarks on his first solo UK tour in some time his reverence for being one of hip hop’s true all time legends becomes apparent. And although he retains god-like status in Japan, Krush is now getting reaching the lofty heights of one of the most respected statesmen of breaks, hiphop and dance fans in the in the rest of the word. This first tour of relatively small shows will be in massive demand…
